dc.description.abstractAmaç: Astım ve sinüzit birlikteliği sık görülen bir durumdur. Ancak sinüzit varlığının astım için ağırlaştırıcı bir faktör olup olmadığı konusu tartışmalıdır. Çalışmamızda sinüzit astım için ağırlaştıncı bir faktör ise; daha şiddetli astımı olan kişilerde sinüslerde radyolojik anormallik daha sık olmalıdır hipotezi ile astımlı hastalanı astım ağırlık derecesine göre sınıflandınlarak sinüzit bulunma sıklığı araştırıldı. Gereç ve yöntem: Çalışmaya Selçuk Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göğüs Hastalıklan Anabilim Dalı Allerji Polikliniğine başvuran 74'ü kadın, 19'u erkek 93 astımlı hasta alındı. Bulgular: Astımlı hastalar %63 oranında atopikti ve %52'sinde rinit semptomları da vardı. Doksan üç astımlı hastanın 45 (647) inin sinüs bilgisayarlı tomografisinde sinus patolojisi görüldü. Sonuç: Astımlı hastalarda belirgin semptom olmasa da radyolojik olarak sinüzit tespit edilebileceği görüldü. Astım şiddeti arttıkça sinüzit görülme sıklığı açısından bir fark oluşmamaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractAim: Asthma and sinusitis are frequently associated, but it is controversial whether presence of sinusitis is a risk factor for severity of asthma. In this study we classified the asthma cases according to severity of asthma and investigated frequency of sinusitis with hypothesis that if sinusitis is a worsening factor for asthma, cases with more severe asthma should have more frequent abnormal radiological finding. Material and method: Ninety three asthma cases including 74 female and 19 male who were referred to Selcuk University, Faculty Medicine, Department of Pulmonary Disease, Allergic Diseases Division were included. Results: Of the cases 63% were atopic and 52% had symptoms of rhinitis. Sinus pathology was detected in 45 (47%) of 93 cases by sinus CT. Conclusion: Also it was seen that even in absence of manifest symptoms, radiologically confirmed sinusitis could be found in cases with asthma. The increase in asthma severety was not accompanied by increased frequency of sinusitis.en_US
