Yetenek Haritaları Belirlenen Üstün Yetenekli Çocukların Ailelerine Verilen Aile Destek Eğitiminin Çocukların Gereksinimlerine Yönelik Farkındalıklarına Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, yetenek haritaları belirlenen üstün yetenekli çocukların
ebeveynlerine verilen aile destek eğitiminin çocukların gereksinimlerine yönelik
farkındalıklarına etkisini incelenmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Karaman
Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi (BİLSEM)’ne devam eden 5.-8. sınıf üstün yetenekli çocuklar
ebeveynleri oluşturmaktadır.Araştırma kapsamında nitel ve nicel verilerin birlikte kullanıldığı karma
yöntem tercih edilmiştir. Çalışma iki kısımdan oluşmaktadır. İlk kısımda Karaman
BİLSEM’de öğrenim gören 130 üstün yetenekli çocuk ve ebeveynlerinden yarı
yapılandırılmış görüşme formlarıyla (Üstün Yetenekli Çocuğa Sahip Ailelerin
Görüşlerini Belirleme Formu, Üstün Yetenekli Çocukların Görüşlerini Belirleme
Formu) elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Aydın
Yetenek Testi Ortaokul İlgi Formu’yla üstün yetenekli çocukların ilgi alanları
doğrultusunda yetenek haritaları çıkarılmıştır.
İkinci kısmında; yarı deneysel desenlerden denkleştirilmemiş (eşitlenmemiş)
kontrol gruplu ön test – son test modeli kullanılmıştır. Deneme grubunu 37, kontrol
grubunu 28 ebeveyn oluşturmaktadır. Deneme grubundaki ebeveynlere araştırma kapsamında geliştirilen 16 oturumluk Aile Destek Eğitim Programı (ADEP)
uygulanmıştır. Deneme ve kontrol grubundaki ebeveynlere deney öncesinde ve
sonrasında “Ebeveynin Çocuğuyla İletişimi Ölçeği (EÇİÖ)” uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca
deneme grubunda yer alan üstün yetenekli çocuklar ve ebeveynlerine aile eğitimi
öncesinde ve sonrasında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formlarıyla ihtiyaç analizi
formu uygulanmıştır. Eğitim öncesinde elde edilen bulgularla eğitim sonrası elde
edilen bulguların karşılaştırılması yapılmıştır.
Araştırmanın sonucunda bu çalışma kapsamında geliştirilen Aile Destek Eğitim
Programı (ADEP)’nın üstün yetenekli çocuklar ve ebeveynlerin yaşadıkları sorunlar
ve etkileşimleri üzerinde etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmış; problem olarak tanımlanan
davranışlarla iletişime yönelik sorunlarda olumlu yönde değişim tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of family support education which is given to parents that have a gifted child whose talent map was created on their awareness about their child's needs. Participants of the current study are from 5th grade to 8th grade gifted children who studies in Karaman Science and Art Center and their families.In the scope of the current study, the mixed method which includes collecting, analyzing both a qualitative and a quantitative data was preferred. The study comprises of two sections. In the first section, semi structured interview forms (Forms for Determination of Parents' Opinion who have a Gifted Children, Forms for Determination of Gifted Children's Opinion) conducted to 130 gifted children who studies in Karaman Science and Art Center (BILSEM) and their parents and obtained data which are qualitative data were analyzed by using descriptive method. In addition to this, talent map were created in the line of the interests of gifted children by using Aydin Ability Test Middle School Interest Form. In the second and last section of the study, quasi-experimental model which is unequal control group pretest-posttest has been used. While experimental group has 37 parents, control group consists of 28 parents. Family Support Education Program (ADEP) that developed with the current study was conducted to experimental group in 16 sessions. Scale of Parents' Communication with their Children (EÇİÖ) was conducted both parents who are in the experimental group and control group before and after the experiment. In addition to this, semi structured interview forms (Family Interview Form before ADEP, Gifted Children Interview Form before ADEP, Family Interview Form after ADEP, and Gifted Children Interview Form after ADEP) and needs analysis form were conducted to gifted children and their parents who are in the experimental group. Findings of before and after trainings were compared. Results of the current study indicates that Family Support Education Program (ADEP) that developed within the scope of this study has a positive effect on conflict between gifted children and their parents and their interaction. Also, it has been determined that there is a positive change on problem behaviors and communication problems.
