Üç hastada 1, 3 hastada 2, 4 hastada 3, 1 hastada 4 adet aksesuar kanal tespit edildi. Diş hekimleri maksilla anterior bölgede canalis sinuosus ile ilişkili aksesuar kanalların olabileceğini göz önünde bulundurmalıdır.
The anterior region of the maxilla is an area that often requires surgical procedures. In order to prevent surgical complications that may occur after these procedures, it is necessary to identify the neurovascular structures in this region. The aim of this case series is to report 11 patients in whom accessory canals related to canalis sinuosus were diagnosed in CBCT images. Accessory canals related to canalis sinuosus on the CBCT images were detected in 3 females and 8 males (age range: 15-67) who admitted to Gazi University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. The localization, number and diameter of the accessory canals were assessed. Twenty-five accesory canals related with canalis sinuosus were detected in 11 patients. Of these, 12 were located on the right side and 13 were located on the left side. Accessory canal was observed bilaterally in 7 patients. The diameter of the accessory canals was less than 1 mm in diameter. The diameters of the measured canals ranged from 1.02 to 2.0 mm. There were 1 accessory canals in 3 patients, 2 accessory canals in 3 patients, 3 accessory canals in 4 patients, and 4 accessory canals in 1 patient. Dentists should be aware of the maxillary anterior region may have accessory canals associated with canalis sinuosus.
