Özet
Türkiye ile Yunanistan'ın Batı Bloğu ile bütünleşme süreci 1950'li yılların başlarına kadar ikili ilişkilerine olumlu yansırken, 1950'lerin ortalarında patlak veren Kıbrıs krizi ile birlikte ilişkilerde yeni bir döneme girilmiş ve bu tarihten sonra Türk-Yunan ilişkileri önemli bir gelişme kaydedememiştir. 1960'larda her iki ülkede de sol muhalefetin güçlenmesi, iktidardaki sağ partilerin konumlarının sarsılmasına yol açarken, Yunanistan'da ciddî bir siyasî kriz ortaya çıkmış ve 1965'den 1967'ye kadar ülke istikrarsız koalisyonlar tarafından yönetilmiştir. Bu siyasî kriz 21 Nisan 1967'de Albayların yönetime el koymasıyla sona ermiştir. Albaylar Cuntası'nın, Temmuz 1974'de Kıbrıs'taki darbe girişimi, Türkiye'nin adaya müdahalesi ile sonuçlanmış ve dolaylı olarak Yunanistan'daki Cunta'nın devrilmesine zemin hazırlamıştır. Böylece Yunanistan yedi yıllık karanlık dönemin sonunda demokrasiye geçmiştir.
SUMMARY While Greece's West Block integration process with Turkey reflected positively on the bilateral relations until the early 1950s, with the Cyprus crisis erupted in mid 1950s, a new era in relations started and since this date, Turkish-Greek relations have not made significant progress.A serious political crisis arose in Greece and from 1965 until 1967 the country was ruled by unstable coalitions whilethe strengthening of the left opposition in both countries in the 1960s led to the shaking of the positions of the ruling right-wing parties,This political crisis came to an end on April 21, 1967, when the Colonels seized control. The Cyprus coup attempt on July in 1974 by The Colonels Junta resulted in Turkey's intervention to the island. This indirectly layed the groundwork for the overthrow of Junta in Greece. Thus, Greece switched to democracy at the end of the seven-year dark period.
