Characterization of consolida s.f. gray (ranunculaceae) taxa in turkey by seed storage protein electrophoresis [Tohum Depo Protein Elektroforezi ile Türkiye'deki Consolida S.F. Gray (Ranunculaceae) taksonlarinin Karakterizasyonu]
    (2010) Ertugrul K.; Arslan E.; Tugay O.
Objective: This research aimed to investigate the genetic relations of Consolida S. F. Gray species collected in Turkey using seed storage proteins. This study has become significant as the taxonomic status of genus Consolida changes often. Methods: Mature seeds of 22 Consolida species were collected. Total protein were isolated from seeds collected for each species. Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate-Poly-carylamide Gel Electrophoresis was performed by a standard method on a vertical slab gel. After electrophoresis, the protein bands were visualized by staining with Coomassie Brillant Blue G-250. The polymorphic bands were scored visually as present (1) or absent (0). Genetic similarity among taxa was estimated basing on Nei's homology. Results: In all, 74 polypeptide bands of different sizes ranging from 25 to 140 kDa were observed in the 22 taxa of the genus Consolida. Cluster analysis was performed using the unweighted pair-group method and arithmetic averages in Bio1D++ computer program. According to similarity coefficients, the genus Consolida was separated into the main two groups. It was discovered that the first group consisted of the species of Consolida with 5-lobed corolla, and in the second main group were the species with 3-lobed corolla. Conclusion: It is concluded that seed storage protein profiles could be useful markers in the studies of genetic relations of Consolida species. The grouping as a result of the dendogram has also supported the relationship in Flora of Turkey. 2010 © TurkJBiochem.com.

    Conceptual frame of globalization
    (2013) Arslan E.; Fatih Bilal Alodali M.
Change process accelerating with the collapse of bipolar order continues "domino effect" in political, economic, and social areas. Political and social change experienced in each of sectors having organic links to each other influences another. In the recent years political and social change processes experienced all over the world have created a dynamic discussion setting intensifying around state and its functions. All these developments, in whose foundation intensive technological breakthroughs and communication are existent, and which still keeps socioeconomic structure under its influence are described the concept "globalization". © Sila Science.

An investigation of emotional skills of six-year-old children attending nursery school according to some variables
    (2011) Durmuşo?lu-Saltali N.; Arslan E.
The purpose of this study is for the emotional skills of six-year-old children attending nursery school according to some variables. The participants were 306 (135 girls and 171 boys) six-year-old children attending nursery school. Data were collected from Assessment of Children's Emotional Skills and personal information form. In order to analyze data, t test, one way variance analysis and tukey test were employed. The findings of the study revealed that emotional skills of six-year-old children attending nursery school significantly varied according to the variables of gender, educational level of mother and father, the status of receiving previous pre-school education and number of children in the family. © 2011 Academic Journals.

An investigation of social skills in children with different perfectionism levels
    (2011) Arslan E.
The purpose of this study is to analyze social skills in children with different perfectionism. The participants were 514 (254 females and 260 males) elementary school students. Data were collected from "multidimensional perfectionism scale" and "Matson evaluation of social skills with youngsters" . In order to analyze data, t test were employed. In the study it was found that average positive social skill scores according to perfectionism levels did not significantly vary. Furthermore, it was found that average negative social behaviors scores according to perfectionism levels significantly varied and average negative social behavior scores of the children with high levels of perfectionism were higher than those of the children with low levels of perfectionism. © 2011 Academic Journals.

Quantitative analysis of various virulance genes (PVL, LukED, ?-hemoliz) by real-time PCR of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from bovine mastitis
(University of Punjab (new Campus), 2016) Arslan E.; Ladikli S.; Arslan U.
In 98 Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) strains isolated from bovine mastitis, presence/absence of virulence genes such as Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL), ?-hemolysis and LukED and quantitative analysis were conducted by Real-Time PCR. According to Real-Time PCR PVL, ?-hemolysis and LukED genes of 98 S. aureus strains were found as 70.40%, 90.81% and 66.32%, respectively. As a result of the quantitative analysis of virulence genes according to strains, they are grouped into 3 groups as 40<-10,000, 10,000-100,000 and 100,000< IU/ml considering viral gene amount. The amount of PVL gene among these groups was determined as 27.55%, 9.18% and 32.65% respectively, and ?-hemolysis as 48.97%, 39.79% and 2.04% and LukED as 45.91%, 14.28% and 6.12%. As a result, in S. aureus strains isolated from bovine mastitis the prevalence of these virulence genes were higher. Therefore it is deduced that PVL, ?-hemolysis and LukED may be important virulence factors in the pathogenesis of S. aureus. Copyright 2016 Zoological Society of Pakistan.

Region, regionalization and regional development areas
    (2013) Fatih Bilal Alodali M.; Arslan E.
All developed and developing countries experience regional unbalance in socioeconomic area. Especially after Second World War, that regional problems take place in the economic and political agenda of societies in a number of countries as a national problem leaded to the sensitivity of public opinion to problem to increase [1]. In this period, the countries carry out works toward reducing the developmental differences between regions, on the one hand, to adapt the global world, to be able to realize the economic integration in itself, on the other hand. In this scope, in order to reduce regional unbalance, producing of governments policy and their searching solution comes to our face as prioritized in almost every country. When the experiences of countries about this issue, every countries are seen to refer to the different imbrutements and policies compatible with their own social and economic structures, in order to eliminate regional development differences. In this section, in order to be able to comprehend the regional development differences, the basic concepts such as Region, Regionalism, and Regionalization will be defined and touched Regional Development Agencies. © Sila Science.
