Özet
Dichlorvos (DDVP) is an organophosphorus that compound of many aerosol and other pesticides, in common usage in houses and public places for pest control and management. This chemical commonly known as diclorvos (2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate) or shortly as DDVP and most of pest sprayers that commercially are available contain dichlorvos. Because of suspicious to be carcinogenic dichlorvos (DDVP) usage are restricted or forbidden in some countries such as USA, England, Denmark and Indonesia. This substance is permitted to use only use for sanitation purpose on heavily contaminated places such as laboratories bench surfaces. It has been claimed that spraying of dichlorvos containing pesticides into air may have carcinogenic effects. Also, respiration of contaminated air may causes some neurological illness. Additionally, Biocide Directives (98/8/EEC, 90/394/EEC ve 98/24/EEC) issued that dichlorvos also may have mutagenic effects. This study was aimed brought into public consideration the main and side effects of dichlorvos that in sale markets without any restriction. The performed animal experiments were shown that dichlorvos, may lead to cancer development. The aerosols and sprayers contain dichlorvos were been using for pest control and management in houses, public places and pet habitats should be questioned for in the sake of public health. By the way a public demands may force authorities to make some legal regulations about dichlorvos contain pesticides.
