Özet

Urban transformation includes the subjects of bringing its function to the places that lost their features, renewing the unhealthy and unlicensed buildings in the city, Transformation of the buildings that might affected from the natural disasters to other using areas, defining the urban functions correctly and planning them, renewing and developing the urban substructure. The aim of the urban transformation is to make the area which is the subject of transformation habitable and make the conditions better. To achieve this goal the conditions that made inhabitants' life difficult should be learned. The participation of the people will be useful at this point because dwellers are the people who confront and know the problems that affect the area everyday. It is necessary to provide the participation of people for responding the expectations and demands in urban transformation process to get intended benefit. But, in what size of people's participation will be take part, in what extend the opinion of the people will take into consideration and how this participation will be provided are the problems of this process. In this study, proposals will be given on participation of the people in the applications of urban transformation.
