Özet
Bu çalısma, bilgisayar teknolojisinin ortaokul ögrencilerine yabancı dil olarak ngilizce ögretimi basarısı üzerine olan etkisini incelemistir. Bu, Soma, Manisa'da Sabri Balcı lkögretim Okulu'nda 7. sınıf ögrencileriyle yürütülmüs deneysel bir çalısmadır. Çalısma için gerekli bilgi, uygulamadan önce ve sonra kontrol ve deney gruplarına ön-test ve son-test olarak uygulanan basarı testi ve tutum ölçegi aracılıgıyla toplanmıstır. Çalısma sonuçları, her iki grubun ön-test basarı ve tutum puanları arasında önemli bir farkın olmadıgını göstermistir. Ögrencilerin son-test basarı puanları, kontrol grubuna göre deney grubunun daha yüksek bir basarı elde ettigini ve uygulamanın ögrencilerin ngilizce ögrenmeye karsı olan tutumlarında önemli bir farka neden olmadıgını göstermistir. Sonuçlar, bilgisayar teknolojisinin ortaokul ögrencilerine yabancı dil olarak ngilizce ögretimi basarısı üzerinde olumlu etkileri oldugunu göstermistir.
This study investigated the effects of computer technology on the success of teaching English as a foreign language to secondary school students. This was an experimental study conducted at Sabri Balcı Primary School in Soma, Manisa with 7th grade students. The data was collected through an achievement test and an attitude scale which were applied as pre- and post-tests to the control and experimental group before and after the treatment. The findings revealed that there was no significant difference between the pre-test achievement and attitude scores of the both groups. The post-test achievement scores revealed that compared to the control group, the experimental group achieved a higher success and treatment caused no significant difference in the attitudes of the students towards learning English. The results indicated that computer technology has positive effects on the success of teaching English as a foreign language to secondary school students.
