dc.description.abstractObject: In this study, a comparison of efficacy and tolerability of clozapine and sulpiride on treatment-resistant-schizophrenia was aimed. Method: Thirty-six in-patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia, diagnosed according to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, were given 600-1600 mg/day sulpiride and 300-800 mg/day clozapine, randomly. Patients were evaluated using Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) and UKU- Side Effects Scale on the 15 th, 30th and 60th days of the study. Results: The baseline and the end of the treatment period of Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) points of two groups were compared in the group that was treated with clozapine BPRS- points was significantly lower than the group that was treated with sulpiride. Leucopenia and agranulocytosis did not occur in the clozapine treated group. In the both groups there were no dropouts due to the side effects. Conclusions: It is suggested that the clozapme is more effective than sulpiride on the treatment-resistant- schizophrenia.en_US
dc.description.abstractAmaç: Klozapin ve sülpirid tedaviye dirençli flizofreni hastalar›nda etkili bulunmufltur. Bu çal›flmada tedaviye dirençli flizofreni hastalar›nda klozapin ve sülpiridin etkinli¤inin ve güvenirlili¤inin karfl›laflt›r›lmas› amaçland›. Yöntem: DSM IV tan› ölçütlerine göre kronik flizofreni tan›s› alan, klasik antipsikotik tedaviye dirençli, klinikte yatarak tedavi gören 36 hasta üzerinde yap›ld›. Hastalara rasgele yöntemle 600-1600 mg/gün sulpirid ve 300-800 mg/gün aras› klozapin verildi. Çal›flmada K›sa Psikiyatrik De¤erlendirme Ölçe¤i (KPDÖ) ve UKU yan etki ölçe¤i, kullan›ld›. Tedavinin de¤erlendirmesi için tedaviye bafllamadan KPDÖ ve tedavinin 15, 30 ve 60. günlerinde KPDÖ ve UKU yan etki ölçe¤i kullan›ld›. Bulgular: Tedavinin altm›fl›nc› gününde klozapinle tedavi edilen hastalar›n KPDÖ puanlar› sülpirid grubuna k›yasla anlaml› derecede düflük bulundu. Klozapinle tedavi edilen grupta lökopeni ve agranülositoz görülmedi. Her iki grupta yan etkilerden dolay› tedaviyi b›rakan olmad›. Tart›flma: Tedaviye dirençli flizofreni hastalar›nda klozapinin daha etkili bulundu.
