| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The aim of this study was to determinethe rate between internet addiction and risk of obesityrisk in primary school students.Materials and Methods: This study was conductedwith a total of 358 students. Ethics committee approvaland institutional permission as well as verbal and writtenconsents of the students and their parents wereobtained to conduct the study. Mann-Whitney U andKruskal Wallis tests were used to carry out statisticalanalyses of the data.Findings: The average age of the students included inthe study was 13.750.64 and they started using internetat age of 7.712.02. It was found that 44.3% usedinternet for more than five hours. While 51.7% of thestudents did not have breakfast on the internet, 32.8%skipped eating while using the internet. Also, it wasfound that while 13.4% of the students were obese, and14.2% were overweight. The total score obtained by thestudents from the internet addiction test was20.3616.16.Conclusion: When scores of the internet addiction testwere examined; a statistically significant difference wasdetermined between the scores of the internet addictiontest and the students’ percentile value, age, gender,period of internet use, the state of getting hungry atcomputer/ internet, and their mothers’ educationalbackground. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Giriş: Bu araştırma, ilköğretim öğrencilerinde internetbağımlılığı ve obezite riskinin belirlenmesi amacıylayapılmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu araştırma 2014-2015 öğretimyılının ikinci döneminde, ikinci kademede öğrenimgören toplam 358 öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.Araştırmanın yapılabilmesi için etik kurul ve kurumizni, çalışmaya katılan öğrenciler ve velilerinden sözlüve yazılı onamları alınmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel değerlendirilmesindeMann-Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallistesti kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması13.750.64, ilk internet kullanım yaşı7.712.02’dir. Ek olarak %44.3’ü beş saatten fazla internetkullanmaktadır. Öğrencilerin %51.7’sinin kahvaltıyapmadığı ve %32.8’inin internette iken yemek yemeyigeçiştirdiği belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin%13.4’ü obez, %14.2’si hafif kilolu olarak bulunmuştur.Öğrencilerin internet bağımlılık toplam ölçekpuanı 20.3616.16 olarak belirlenmiştir.Sonuç: İnternet bağımlılık ölçek puanları incelendiğinde;öğrencilerin persentil değeri, yaş, cinsiyet, anne eğitimdurumu, internet kullanım süresi ve bilgisayar/internet başında acıkma durumu ile internet bağımlılıkölçek puanı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farkolduğu saptanmıştır. | en_US |
