Lateral kafa grafisinde adenoidal-nazofarengeal oran (ANO) hesaplandı. ANO ile maksiller sinüzit arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı. Bulgular: ANO 0.74 0.08 idi. 45 hastada sinüzit bulundu. ANO sinüziti olan hastalarda ANO 0.73 0.07, sinüziti olmayanlarda ise 0.74 0.08 idi (P 0.05). Sonuç: Adenoid hiperplazisinin maksiller sinüzit oluşumunda etkisi yoktur.
Objective: To determine the role of adenoid hyperplasia in the etiology of maxillary sinusitis in children. Methods: In a hundred children with adenoid hyperplasia lateral skull graphy with soft tissue dose and Water's graphy were taken. One patient was discarded because of maxillary sinus without aeration. Adenoid hyperplasia was evaluated according to adenoidal-nasopharyngeal ratio (ANR) and relation to maxillary sinusitis was investigated. Results: The average value of ANR was 0.74± 0.08 in 99 children. There was sinusitis in 45 patients. In the patients with sinusitis the average value of ANR was found 0.73± 0.07. In the patients without sinusitis the average value of ANR were 0.74± 0.08 (P>0.05). Conclusion: Adenoid hyperplasia is not an efficient factor in the development of maxillary sinusitis.
