Özet
Klasik Türk edebiyatı, nazım türleri bakımından oldukça zengindir. Şehrengizler bu nazım türlerinin çeşitliliği içerisinde oldukça önemli bir yer tutarlar. Bu çalışmada, önce eski Türk edebiyatı türlerinden şehrengizlerin tanımı yapılmaya çalışılmış; daha sonra şimdiye kadar bir şehrengizi olduğu bilinmeyen, kendisinin sadece birkaç beytinden başka manzumesine rastlanmayan şair Nüvîsî ile onun 166 beyitten oluşan mesnevi tarzında yazılmış İstanbul Şehrengizi tespit edilerek bilim âleminin istifadesine sunulmuştur.
Classical Turkish literature is opulent in terms of verse form and meters. Şehrengiz occupies a considerably substantial place amidst these verse forms and meters. In this study, the primary concern has been the definition of şehrengiz and Nuvisi the poet, who had never been known to have any other work than a few couplets. The rest of the study reveals fort he first time that Nuvisi actually wrote a Şehrengiz for İstanbul (Şehrengiz-i İstanbul) in the form of mathnavi that comprises 166 couplets.
