Özet
Human resources are one of the most important resources for organisations in the current competitive work environment. However, this resource may, consciously or not, be treated in a way that may drive it into silence at organisations, and in result, alienation. This quantitative study aimed to determine the relationship between organisational silence and employee alienation at organisations. In this context, human-intensive service sectors, mainly health and tourism and hospitality sectors, were surveyed, and 425 valid responses were obtained from randomly selected employees working at such service providing organisations. The data were analysed by explanatory factor analysis and linear regression modelling. The results revealed that there was a significant relationship between organisational silence and alienation. Organisations get the highest potential of available human resources more when the factors that drive employees into silence are eliminated. Copyright © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
