Özet
Öz Amaç: Bu çalışma 45 yaş ve üzeri kadınların osteoporoz farkındalık ve yaşam kalitesi düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini Konya’nın bir ilçesinde 01 Şubat- 30 Haziran 2023 tarihleri arasında sağlık evine gelen 45 yaş üzeri kadınlar oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın örneklemine 202 kadın alınmıştır. Kadınlar gelişigüzel örnekleme yöntemi ile çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Gerekli veriler literatür eşliğinde hazırlanan kadınların sosyo-demografik ve jinekolojik özelliklerini içeren 25 maddelik Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Osteoporoz Farkındalık Ölçeği ve Avrupa Osteoporoz Vakfı’nın (QUALEFO) Yaşam Kalitesi Anketi kullanılarak yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 45 yaş ve üzeri kadınlar anket formunu eksiksiz doldurmuştur. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan kadınların yaş ortalaması 54,11±8,76 (min=45, max=82) olup %80,2’si evli ve %55,4’ü okuryazar/ilköğretim eğitim düzeyine sahiptir. Yükseköğrenim mezunu (p?0,001), beden kitle indeksi normal aralıkta olan (p?0,001) ve osteoporoz kelimesini daha önce duyan (p=0,001) kadınların osteoporoz farkındalıkları yüksektir. Menopoz süresi on yılı geçen (p?0,001) ve kemik kırığı yaşayan (p=0,001) kadınların yaşam kaliteleri düşük olurken düzenli egzersiz yapan (p?0,001) kadınların yaşam kaliteleri yüksek bulunmuştur.
Abstract Aim: This study was conducted to determine the level of awareness of osteoporosis and the quality of life of women over the age of 45 years. Method: The population of the research consists of women over the age of 45 who came to the health center in a district of Konya between 01 February and 30 June 2023. The study sample included 202 women. Women were included in the study using convenience sampling method. The necessary data were collected through a face-to-face interview method using a 25-item Personal Information Form containing the sociodemographic and gynecological characteristics of the women, prepared from the literature, the Osteoporosis Awareness Scale and the Quality of Life Questionnaire of the European Foundation for Osteoporosis (QUALEFO). The survey form was completed in full by women aged 45 and over who agreed to participate in the study. Results: The mean age of the women participating in the study is 54.11±8.76 (min=45, max=82), 80.2% are married and 55.4% have a literacy/primary education level. Women who have completed higher education (p?0.001), whose body mass index is in the normal range (p?0.001), and who have heard the word osteoporosis before (p=0.001) have high osteoporosis awareness levels. While quality of life was low among women whose menopause had lasted more than ten years (p=0.001) and who had experienced fractures (p=0.001), quality of life was high among women who exercised regularly (p=0.001). Conclusion: Variables such as education, BMI, and hearing the word osteoporosis affect women's awareness of osteoporosis. It has been found that women's quality of life is affected by the duration of menopause, regular exercise, and experience of fractures. Women should be educated about osteoporosis to improve their awareness and quality of life.
