| dc.description.abstract | 1941 yılında Muhsin Ertuğrul’un yönetiminde Shakespeare’in Hamlet adlı eseri sahnelenir. İstanbul Üniversitesi İngiliz Edebiyatı bölümü tarafından çevrilen bu eser hakkında birçok iddia ortaya atılmış, eserin sahnelenişine, çevirisine yönelik olumlu ve olumsuz birçok eleştiri yapılmıştır. Şehir Tiyatrosu ve Muhsin Ertuğrul da bundan nasibini almıştır. Bu çalışmada ise halkın ve basının ilgisini çeken bu tartışmalar ele alınacak, ünlü edebiyatçıların birbirleri hakkında açtıkları davalarda yaşananlar üzerinde durulacaktır. | en_US |

The play had been translated by the students and professors of the English Department of İstanbul University, and it became a source of many positive and negative claims and critiques because of its translation and performance. Municipal Theatre and Muhsin Ertuğrul, as the director of the play, were also involved.
