Özet
Gelişen ve değişen teknolojinin doğal sonuçlarından olan internet, hayatın her alanında olduğu gibi kitle iletişimi ve kitle iletişim araçlarının işlevleri konusunda da doğası gereği kimi yenilikler getirmiştir. Online ya da sanal gazetecilik kavramları da bu yeni kitle iletişim aracı ile birlikte habercilik ve yayıncılık literatürüne giren kavramlar olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Geleneksel haber ortamlarının internet haberciliği ile arasındaki farklar ve benzerlikler ile ilgili tespitler, geçiş sürecinde bu iki ortamın birbirinden ne ölçüde faydalandığının ortaya konması bakımından da önem taşımaktadır. Geleneksel habercilikten internet haberciliğine geçiş sürecinde basın ile ilgili genel olarak yaşanan alışkanlıklar ve sorunlar spor basını açısından da ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu süreçte internet haberciliğinin, alternatif spor branşları ve takımları işleme şansına, yer ve zamanına sahipken bu uygulamanın yapılmaması, geleneksel haberciliğin internet haberciliğine geçişinde sadece araç değişimi yapıldığı izlenimi vermektedir. Bu bakımdan medya dönüşümü mü yoksa medya değişimi mi söz konusu olmaktadır sorusu karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Günümüzde geleneksel habercilik, interneti kendi faydasına kullanabilir, aynı şekilde internet haberciliği de kendi içeriğinin çoğunu basılı ortamlardan alabilir gerçeği kabullenilmekte ve aynı uygulamaya spor basınında da rastlanmaktadır.
The internet which itself is a natural outcome of developing and changing technology, has brought novelties in every aspect of life, like the innovations in mass communication and in the function of the mass communication. With this new mass medium, the terms online journalism and virtual journalism have earned their place in news and press literature. The differences and similarities between traditional media and internet journalism are important in indicating how much the latter is owing to the former in the process of transition. The habits and problems that have been experienced troughout the process of transition from traditional journalism to internet journalism in general, were valid in the field of sports journalism too. The means and possibilities of internet journalism could fairly enable the coverage of alternative sports branches and teams as well, but the avoidance of this way is suggesting that the whole process of transition might merely consist of a change of the medium. The answer to this question is one of far reaching importance. Today, the internet has widely been accepted as a useful outlet of the traditional media, and likewise, internet journalism may take most of its content from the traditional press, a status quo that is valid for sports journalism too.
