Özet
Koronavirüsler, insanlarda ve hayvanlarda çeşitli derecelerde enterik, hepatik, respiratuvar ve sistemik
tutulumlar yapabilen büyük bir virüs ailesidir. İnsanlarda enfeksiyona neden olduğu bilinen altı
koronavirüsten dördü ( HCoV 229E, HCoV NL63, HCoV HKU1 ve HCoV OC43) immunkompetan
bireylerde hafif üst solunum yolu enfeksiyonuna neden olmaktadır. SARS-CoV (Severe Acute
Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus) ve MERS-CoV (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus)
(WHO) tarafından yeni tip koronavirüse bağlı pnömoni vakaları 11 Şubat 2020’de COVID-19
(Coronavirus Disease 2019) olarak adlandırılmıştır (WHO Report-1, 2020) Önceden 2019-nCov olarak
bilinen virüs Koronavirüs Çalışma Grubu tarafından Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus
2 (SARS-CoV-2) olarak yeniden adlandırmıştır (Gorbalenya vd, 2020). Türkiye’de ilk COVID-19
vakası 11 Mart 2020’de bildirilmiştir. SARS-CoV-2’ nin Betacoronavirus olduğu ve yarasa kökenli batSL-CoVZC45 ve bat-SL-CoVZXC21 ile oldukça yakın ilişki gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuç;
yarasaların SARS-CoV-2 için olası rezervuar konakçılar olduğunu düşündürmektedir.
Coronaviruses (CoVs) are large family of viruses that can cause enteric, hepatic, respiratory and systemic disease in animals and humans. Six coronavirus species are known to cause human infection in humans, four of these ( HCoV 229E, HCoV NL63, HCoV HKU1 and HCoV OC43) cause mild upper respiratory tract infections in immunocompetent individuals. SARS-CoV (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus) and MERS-CoV (Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus) were zoonotic viruses and can lead to severe lower respiratory tract infections, even death. Pneumonia cases with unknown aetiology were reported in China on 31th December 2019. The novel coronavirus-induced pneumonia was announced as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by World Health Organisation (WHO) on 11th February 2020 (WHO Report-1, 2020). The previously known 2019-nCov was renamed Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) by the Coronavirus Study Group (Gorbalenya vd, 2020). The first COVID-19 case had been reported on 11th March 2020 in Turkey. It was detected that SARS-CoV-2 is a betacoronavirus and shows fairly close relatedness with two batderived CoV-like coronaviruses; bat-SL-CoVZC45 and bat-SL-CoVZXC21. This result suggests that; bats are the potential reservoir hosts for SARS-CoV-2.
