Abstract
Karşılaştırmalı edebiyat çalışmaları içinde bir alt disiplin, yan dal olarak ortaya çıkan ve zaman geçtikçe araştırmacılar tarafından daha çok ilgi gören imagoloji, toplumların birbirlerini nasıl gördüklerini inceleyen ve bunu da çoğunlukla/öncelikle kendisi için en elverişli malzemeyi sağlayacak edebiyat eserleri üzerinden gerçekleştiren bir araştırma sahasıdır. Bu yazıda söz konusu araştırma sahasının kökeninde yer alan ‘imaj’ kavramı ile birlikte, imagolojinin kapsam ve metodolojisinde dikkatimizi çeken bazı noktalara değinilmiştir.
Imagology which has emerged from comparative literaturestudies, as a subdisciplineor a lateral branch and interested researchers much more as time goes, is a searching area that investigates how societies beholds each other and it performs this with the literature works that provide the most suitable materials formostly/firstlyitself. In this article, some striking points have been mentioned about ‘image’ concept being present at the root of the stated survey area and the scope and methodology of imagology.
