A totaly, 184 broiler chicks was used to determine whether oil industry by-products could be used in broiler rations. Growth performance, weight of carcass, abdominal fat, and composition of fatty acids in abdominal fat were determined in the broilers. The oils given were crude sunflower oil (CSO; control group), sunflower soapstock (SS), acidulated sunflower soapstocks (ASS), and volatile matters (VM) supplemented as 5 % in rations. The broilers were fed for 49 days. The highest feed consumption and efficiency values were found in the group fed with acidulated soapstock. The lowest feed consumption and the highest average live weight values were found in the group fed with sunflower crude oil. It was concluded oil industry by-products in broiler diets would be used as an energy source without any harmful effect on the broiler performance. They also contain high level of omega-3 fatty acids which is known to be very important for human health.en_US
