| dc.description.abstract | This study was carried out to determine the effects of zeranol implantation that had been used as an anabolic agent on the reproductive tract in the Brown Swiss male bulls. Twenty three Brown Swiss bulls, 6 - 9 months old, were used in this study. These bulls were divided into three groups; Control, Group I and Group II. 36 mg zeranol was implanted subcutaneously at the base of ear of bulls in Group I and Group II at the beginning of the experiment and the same dose was reimplanted to Group II 65 days after the first implantation. Implantation of zeranol to the bulls induced histopat- hological changes on the reproductive tract, which included; reduction in the diameter of seminiferous tubules and delayed spermatogenezis in the testes, increased interductal connective tissue and muscular layer of the d. epididimis in the epididimites, ugmented interalveoler connective tissue and reduced alveoler development in the prostate, vesicular glands and bulbourethral glands. It may be concluded that the implantation of zeranol would cause incufficiency at sexual breed function in bulls after 6 months of age. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, besi hayvanlarında anabolik olarak kullanılan zeranol implantasyonunun esmer irk erkek danaların genital organlarında sebep olduğu değişiklikleri tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan 6-9 aylık 23 baş esmer ırk erkek dana, Kontrol, Deneme I ve Deneme II olmak üzere 3 gruba ayrıldı. Çalışmanın başlangıcında Deneme I ve Deneme II grubuna 36 mg, bundan 65 gün sonra Deneme II grubuna ikinci bir 36 mg zeranol kulak dersi altına implante edildi. Deneme I ve Deneme II grubundan 5'er baş dana implantasyondan 135, kalanları ise 206 gün sonra kesildi. Zeranol implante edilen danalarda tubulus seminiferus çaplarında küçülme, spermatogeneziste gecikme, epididi- mislerde interduktal bağ dokuda ve duktus epididimislerin kas tabakasında artış, prostat, gl. vesikularis ve gl. bulbourethra- liste alveoler yapıda azalma ile interalveoler dokuda artış tespit edildi. Zeranol implantasyonunu 6 aydan büyük danalarda cinsel fonksiyonda yetersizliklere yol açabileceği fakat bu etkisinin prepubertal döneme kıyasla azaldığı kanısına varıldı. | en_US |
