dc.description.abstractTürkiye’de ülkenin eğitim ve kültürüne katkıda bulunmasıamacıyla 19 Şubat 1932’den itibaren halkevleri açılmaya başlamıştır.Konya Halkevi de ilk açılan halkevleri arasındadır. Açıldığı tarihtenitibaren diğer faaliyetlerinin yanı sıra eğitim faaliyetlerine de başlamıştır.Bu eğitim faaliyetleri, konferanslar, kurslar, yarışma ve münazaralar ilePazar sohbetleri çerçevesinde şekillenmiştir.Konya Halkevinde yapılan eğitim faaliyetleri arasında öndegelenlerden biri de çeşitli alanlarda verilen kurslardır. Bu kurslar ihtiyacagöre şekillenmiş ve gerek duyulduğunda tekrarlanmıştır. Kurslardaöğretmenlik gönüllülük esasına dayanır. Halkevinde açılan kurslarınbaşında okuma-yazma kursları gelir. Bu kurslar okula gitme şansıbulamamış ya da mezun olamamış vatandaşlara yöneliktir. Bu kurslarınbir ayağı da Konya Cezaevinde açılmıştır. Okuma yazma kurslarınınyanında, lisan, matematik, fen gibi okul derslerine destek kursları, müzikve spor kursları, meslek edindirme kursları ve belli mesleklere yönelikkurslar da açılmıştır. Bu kurslara katılım oldukça yüksek olmuştur.Genellikle kurs süresinin sonunda katılımcılar sınava tâbi tutulmuş,sınavı geçen öğrencilere kursu başarıyla tamamladıklarına dair belgeverilmiştir.ÇalışmanınamacıKonyaHalkevindeyapılaneğitimçalışmalarından kursların tarihi, kapsamı, içeriği ve uyandırdığı yankılarıtespit etmek suretiyle Konya Halkevinin eğitim ve kültüre katkısınınniteliği hakkında somut bilgiler ortaya koymaktır. Bu bilgilerhalkevlerinin ülke çapında yürüttüğü eğitime yönelik çalışmalarıngerçekçi bir düzlemde değerlendirilmesine katkıda bulunacaktır. Ayrıca söz konusu bilgilerin Cumhuriyetin ilk yirmi beş yılına yönelik sosyolojive eğitim tarihi çalışmalarına yardımcı olması da amaçlanmıştır.Bu çalışmada söz konusu kurslar nitel araştırma yöntemiyleincelenmiş ve dönemin gazetelerinde kurslara dair yayımlanan duyuru,haber ve yazılar esas alınmıştır. İlk etapta halkevinin faaliyette olduğu1932-51 yılları arası Konya’da yayımlanan gazeteler taranmış, halkevi ileilgili duyuru, haber ve yazılar tespit edilmiş, sonra halkevinin açtığıkurslara dair olanlar nitel araştırma yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir.Konya Halkevinin açtığı kurslar söz konusu belgeler ışığındadeğerlendirildiğinde, bu kursların okula devam eden-edemeyen gençler,okul çağı geçmiş kişiler, mahkûmlar gibi toplumun bütün kesimlerinehitap ettiği görülür. Kursların temel amacı vatandaşların eğitiminekatkıda bulunmaktır, söz konusu kurslar büyük ölçüde amacınaulaşmıştır. Bu başarının temelinde halkın bu kuruma teveccühü vehalkevi üyelerinin istikrarlı çalışmaları kadar halkevinin büyük ölçüdedevlet desteği almış olmasının da payı büyüktüren_US
dc.description.abstractIn Turkey to purpose of contribution of its education and cultureCommunity Center were opened since February 16, 1932. KonyaCommunity Center was among the first ones. Since the date it wasopened it started its training activities as well as beside the otheractivities. These training activities have been shaped by conferences,courses, competitions, debates and Sunday speeches.One of the leading educational activities in the community centerof Konya was the courses given in various fields. These courses wereorganized according to the needs and they were repeated when it wasnecessary. Teaching in these courses was based on volunteering. Readingand writing courses were initial ones among the opened courses inKonya. These courses were for the people who couldn’t have a chance toattend the school or ungraduated ones. One part of these courses wasopened in the prison of Konya. Beside the literacy course, supportingcourses for school subjects such as language, math, science, music andphysical education courses or vocational courses and courses for specificprofessions were opened. Attendance of these courses was high.Generally end of the course participants were tested and the certificateswere given to the participants who were successful.The purpose of the study is to reveal concrete information aboutthe nature of the education and cultural contribution of KonyaCommunity Center by determining the history, scope, contents andrepercussions of the courses from the educational studies conducted inthe Konya Community Center. This information will contribute to arealistic assessment of the educational activities conducted bycommunity residents across the country. It is also aimed that this information helps the sociology and education history studies for the firsttwenty-five years of the Republic.In this study the courses were examined by qualitative researchmethod and the announcements, news, and the articles published innewspapers and magazines about the courses were taken as basis. In thefirst stage, the newspapers published in Konya between 1932 and 1931,during which the people were active, were screened, announcements,news and writings about the community were identified and then thecourses opened by the community were evaluated by qualitative research.When the courses opened by Konya Community Center are evaluated inthe light of these documents, it can be seen that these courses appeal toall sections of the society, such as young people who are not able toattend school, school attendants, prisoners. The main aim of the coursesis to contribute to the education of the citizens, the courses have reachedits goal for a great measure. At the heart of this achievement is the factthat the public has received considerable government support, as well asthe trust of the people and the steady work of the members of thecommunity.en_US
