Özet
This study was conducted to determine the technical and economic factors affecting profitability in layer hen enterprises in Afyonkarahisar in Turkey. As a research material 82 layer hen enterprises data obtained by questionnaire belonging to 2005 production season was used. Mortality rate, FCR (produced egg quantity/consumed feed quantity), egg yield (%) and egg production (number/laying hen) were calculated for 444 days production period as 11.9%, 2.32 kg, 72.73% and 323 number/laying hens, respectively. Cost factors included in the total cost were: pullet 15.10%, feed 71.02%, labor 2.61%, vets and meds 1.20%, amortization and repair 2.04% and other cost factors 8.03%. Financial profitability was in large-scale enterprises 19.08, in medium scale enterprises 4.95 and in small-scale enterprises -1.29, profitability factor ratio was 13.43, 3.89 and -0.69 and O/I ratio 1.09, 1.00 and 0.95, respectively.
