Özet
Divan edebiyatı, yaklaşık yedi yüz yıl kültürel hayatımızı derinden etkilemiş hatta kültürümüze damgasını vurmuştur. Nazım ve nesir olarak iki koldan gelişen bu edebî faaliyet, devletin yüzünü batıya çevirmesiyle kültürel hayattaki etkisini resmen kaybetmiştir. Bugün gelenek halinde etkisi devam eden divan şiiri, dil ve ifade bakımından günlük hayattan uzak bir görüntü arz etmektedir. Divan şiirinin kelime kadrosunu Arapça, Farsça ve Türkçe kelimeler oluşturur. Bu husus zaman zaman divan şiirinin millî olmamakla suçlanılmasına sebep olmuştur. Oysa divan şairi üç dil arasında ve üç dilin mensup olduğu kültürler arasında bir fark görmemiştir. Onun kelime seçimi; tamamen gelenek, ses devamlılığı, meslekî konum, inanç dünyası gibi içinde yaşadığı realitelere bağlıdır.
Classical Ottoman poetry for about seven hundred years has affacted deeply our cultural life and moreover stampted the culture. This literal activity which was developed from two branches as prose and verse has formally lost its effect in the cultural life with the turning the state’s face to west. Today the Classical Ottoman poetry whose effect has continued as a tradition presents a far scene from the daily life from the point of view the language and expression. There are Turkish, Arabish and Persian words in the formation of the Classical Ottoman poetry’s vocabulary. This sometimes causes to be blamed for not being national. But, Classical Ottoman poet has not seen any difference between three languages and the cultures which three languages belong to. It’s choice of word is completely bound to the realistics which live in it like tradition, contiunity of voice, professional location and world of belief.
