dc.description.abstractAlthough the effects of aflatoxin on animal performance have been well established in previous studies, there is no report on the relationship among aflatoxin, Sacchoromyces cerevisiae and hatching traits in poultry species. The current study used quail to test the hypothesis that Saccharomyces cerevisiae (a form of yeast) in diets contaminated with Aflatoxin will improve hatching traits. Forty 49 day-old unvaccinated adult Japanese quails (five male and ten female for each group of fifteen) were used to test at present study. Four diets were prepared: 1) Control (CONT) - basal diet; 2) AF - basal diet plus 5 mg total of AF kg(-1) diet; 3) SC - basal diet plus 2 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae kg(-1) diet; 4) AF + SC - basal diet plus 5 mg total of AF plus 2 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae kg(-1) diet. The results showed that the conductance, conductance constant, hatchability, fertility, late embryonic mortality, ovary weight and testis weight were improved by using Saccharomyces cerevisiae in diet contaminated with AF.en_US
dc.description.abstractObwohl der Einfluss von Aflatoxin (AF) auf die Leistung von Tieren bereits in vielen Studien belegt wurde, gibt es bisher keine Informationen über die Beziehungen zwischen Aflatoxin, Hefe (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) und Brutmerkmalen beim Geflügel. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Studie war daher, die Hypothese zu überprüfen, dass ein Zusatz von Saccharomyces cerevisiae zu Fut- terrationen, die mit Aflatoxin belastet sind, den Bruterfolg verbes- sern kann. Hierzu wurden 49 Tage alte ungeimpfte japanische Wachteln (fünf Hähne und 10 Hennen bildeten je eine Gruppe) verwendet. Folgende Futterrationen kamen zum Einsatz: 1) Kon- trolle Grundration; 2) AF Grundration + 5 mg Aflatoxin/kg - Ration; 3) SC Grundration +2 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae/kg - Ration; 4) AF + SC Grundration +5 mg AF+2g SC/kg Ra- - tion. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass die Leitfähigkeit, die Leitfähigkeits-Konstante, die Schlupfrate, die Fruchtbarkeit, die späte Embryosterblichkeit und die Gewichte von Ovar sowie Ho- den durch die Zugabe von Saccharomyces cerevisiae zum mit Aflatoxin belasteten Futter verbessert wurden.
