Özet

This study examined the relationships between emotional intelligence abilities and life satisfactions of the teachers working at private special education institutions. The sample of the study consists of 127 teachers, 87 women and 40 men, working at private special education institutions in Konya, Turkey. Bar-On EQ Inventory, Satisfaction with Life Scale and Demographic Information Form were conducted to the participants. Stress management and general mood sub-dimensions have significant positive correlations with life satisfaction, whereas intrapersonal skills, interpersonal skills and adaptability sub-dimensions have no significant correlations with life satisfaction. Also, results for Emotional Intelligence Abilities and Life Satisfaction with regard to demographic variables were presented.
