Migration of an intrauterine device (IUD) is a complication occurring at or following insertion. After having perforated the uterine wall, the IUD usually will settle into the peritoneal cavity. Tubal migration of an IUD is extremely rare and little is known about its mechanism. We describe a case of pyosalpinx caused by the tubal migration of a copper IUD. The tail of the device was embedded in the mesocolon.en_US
