dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to determine the effect of fascia lata autografts in the prevention of adhesion development during tendon rupture healing in dogs. A total of 12 dogs were divided equally into 4 groups. After performing experimental tenotomy and tenorraphy of the left achilles tendon, it was covered with an autogenic fascia lata graft in place of the tendon sheath. Only classical tenotomy and tenorraphy were performed on the right achilles tendon as a control. After the operation, the extremities were protected for 21 days by a PVC bandage. Each tendon was injected with 0.5 ml contrast medium subfacially, and then fasciography was performed on both achilles tendons. Dogs were euthanized on days 21, 30, 45 and 60, in groups 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively. Then, tissue samples were collected from each side and processed for histopathologic evaluations. The clinic, radiologic, macroscopic and histopathologic observations of the current study showed that the application of fascia lata autografts prevented the development of postoperative tendon adhesions and it could be used as an alternative to other natural adhesion prevention materials.en_US
dc.description.abstractAraştırma, köpeklerde tendo rupturiarının iyileşmesi esnasında ortaya çıkabilecek adezyonları önlemek için, fascia lata otogreftinin tendo ile çevre dokular arasında bir bariyer olarak kullanılabilirliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Araştırmada 12 adet köpek kullanıldı. Köpekler kendi aralarında 3'erli 4 gruba ayrıldı. Köpeklerin sol aşil tendosunda tenetomi ve tenorafi yapıldıktan sonra fascia lata otogrefti, kılıf şeklinde tendovagina yerine uygulandı. Sağ aşil tendosunda kontrol amacıyla sadece klasik tenetomi ve tenorafi gerçekleştirildi. Operasyondan sonra ekstremiteler 21 gün süreyle PVC'li bandajla korundu. Deneme süresi sonunda, 0,5 mi kontrast madde bilateral subfasial olarak enjekte edilerek fasiyografi yapıldı. Birinci gruptaki köpekler 21. gün, 2. gruptaki köpekler 35. gün, 3. gruptaki köpekler 45. gün ve 4. gruptaki köpekler 60. gün klinik muayeneleri yapılarak ötenazi edildi. Operasyon bölgesinden doku örnekleri alınarak histopatolojik olarak değerlendirildi. Klinik, radyolojik, makroskobik ve histopatolojik bulgular sonucunda, fascia lata otogrefti kullanılmasının, postoperatif tendo adezyonlarını engelleyebileceği kanısına varıldı.
