Özet

The main values perception of biology teacher candidates was examined, as well as the effects of those values on self-efficacy perception. Research was conducted on a heterogeneous group of 162 biology teacher candidates (44 males and 118 females) studying at the Faculty of Education, Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey. The Teacher Self-Efficiency Scale developed on the basis of Bandura's theory by Schwarzer, Schmitz, and Daymer (1999) was modified and applied in this research in order to measure the self-efficacy perception of teachers. Findings demonstrate that teachers' values significantly predict their professional self-efficacy levels.
