    Güney Anadolu Kırmızısı (GAK), Holstein (H) ve Bunların G?, G? Melezleri Düvelerinin Kan Serumlarında Na, K ve I?norgani?k P Değerleri Üzerinde Araştırmalar

    This study was carried out on 76 heifers in 17-20 months of age; 20 Holstein (H), 20 Southern Anatolian Red (GAK), 20 first cross-bred (G) and 16 second cross bred obtained from the Mercimek Zootechnical Research Institue of General Directorate for Agricultural Affairs. The serum Na and K values were determined with Flame - Photometer. The serum inorganic P values were executed by using Boehringer test kit. The results were statistically evaluated by analysis of variance. The levels of Na, K and inorganic P in all the groups respectively between 322.95 8.78 351.60 1.52 mg/100 ml, 21.45 0.45 23.14 1.83 mg/100 ml, 6.090.30 7.20 0.25 mg/100 ml. - The results between all of the groups were not found statistically significant (>0.05).

    A Study on Effect of Melatonin in Dyslipidemia Caused by Experimentally Diabetes

    In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of melatonin application on lipid profile in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Animals in control group were not any treatment. Melatonin group animals received 50 mg/kg melatonin intraperitoneally in daily for eight weeks. Diabetes was induced by subcutaneous injections of streptozotocin at dose of 40 mg/kg for two days as a single dose per day in diabetes group animals. Animals in Diabetes+Melatonin group were made diabetic by streptozotocin in the same way and then these animals received 50 mg/kg melatonin intraperitoneally in daily for eight weeks. In blood samples taken from all animals, TNF-?, triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL and HDL were determined. In diabetes group, TNF-? level were high (p<0.05). The changes in TNF-? level with melatonin application to diabetic rats were important (p<0.05). In diabetic rats, triglyceride and LDL levels were found to be enhanced compared to control group (p<0.05), HDL level was significantly low (p<0.05), while the change in total cholesterol level was not important. With the melatonin application to diabetic rats, HDL level was found to be higher (p<0.05) and LDL level was lower than diabetes group (p<0.05). It was concluded that the administration of melatonin to streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats may have positive effects on lipid profile.

    The Protective Effect of Melatonin on Plasma Lipid Profile in Rats with Cerulein-İnduced Acute Pancreatitis

    The objective of this study was to assessment the effect of melatonin on lipid profile in rats with experimentally induced acute pancreatitis. In this study, 32 adult, male, healthy Wistar Abino rats were used. Group I animals was no applied. Group II animals was intraperitoneally administered 50 mg/kg melatonin per rat twice for two hours intervals. Animals of group III received two intraperitoneal injections of cerulein (50 µg/kg and 25 µg/kg bw, respectively) at two hours intervals.Animals of group IV received two intraperitoneal injections of cerulein (50 µg/kg and 25 µg/kg bw, respectively) at two hours intervals and the rats received an intraperitoneal injection of 50 mg/kg melatonin 30 min before each cerulein injection.After 12 hours from the last cerulein injection, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL, HDL levels was determined.In this study, experimentally induced acute pancreatitis resulted in significantly increase in levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL (p<0.05), while HDL level significantly decreased compared with control group level (p<0.05). Pretreatment of melatonin to the rats with acute pancreatitis importantly reduced triglyceride and LDL levels compared to pancreatitis group (p<0.05).In conclusion, melatonin pretreatment may alleviate the abnormalities in plasma lipid profilecaused by acute pancreatitis.

    Hayvansal Dokularda Oksi?tetrasi?kli?n (OTC) ve Tetrasiklin (TC)'in Fluorometrik Tayini ve Sitrik Asidin (OTC)'nin Emi?lmesindeki Etkisi

    In this study, 55 broiler chickens which have been provided from the poultry-house of the Veterinary Faculty of University of Selçuk were used. Plasma, white muscle, red muscle, liver and kidney tissues, following the oral administration of the antibiotic tetracycline (TC), oxytetracycline (OTC) alone or with citric acid, were determined in broiler chickens. The fluorometric method was used for the determination of the OTC and TC residues in the tissues and plasma. The emission maxima of OTC and TC were at 500 nm and the exitation maxima were at 400 nm. The levels of OTC and TC in all the tissues were found to be between 0.041 and 2.86 ppm, 0.003 and 0.116 ppm respectively.

    Effects of Curcumin on Hematological Parameters in Aflatoxin B1 Applied Rats

    In this study, it is aimed to determine the possible effects of curcumin on hematological parameters in aflatoxin applied rats. Thirty eight healthy male Wistar Albino rats were used in the study. Group I animals was no applied. Animals in Group II were orally given 1 ml 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group III were orally given 300 mg/kg curcumin dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group IV were orally given 250 µg/kg aflatoxin B1 dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group V was orally given 250 µg/kg aflatoxin B1 dissolved in 10% DMSO and 300 mg/kg curcumin dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. At the end of the study, erythrocyte count, leukocyte count, platelet count, hemoglobin amount, hematocrit value, percentage ratios of leukocyte types, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were determined in blood samples taken from all animals. In the study, erythrocytes count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value and MCHC level in the aflatoxin applied rats significantly decreased compared to the control group (p<0.05). MCV level in the aflatoxin applied rats was found significantly higher compared to the control group (p<0.05). In the group in which aflatoxin and curcumin were administered together, erythrocytes count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value and MCHC levels were found to be significantly higher compared to the group administered only aflatoxin (p<0.05). In the study, the leukocyte count significantly decreased in the aflatoxin group compared to the control group (p<0.05). Granulocyte and monocyte percentage significantly increased depend on aflatoxin application (p<0.05). In the group in which aflatoxin and curcumin were administered together, the leukocyte count significantly increased compared to the aflatoxin group (p<0.05). We concluded that curcumin may alleviate the abnormalities in hematological parameters resulting from aflatoxicosis.

    Effects of Curcumin on the Changes in Some Acute Phase Proteins in Aflatoxin B1 Applied Rats

    This research was carried out to evaluate the possible effects of curcumin on acute phase proteins in aflatoxin applied rats. In the study, 38 healthy male Wistar Albino rats were used. Group I animals was no applied. Animals in Group II were orally given 1 ml 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group III were orally given 300 mg/kg curcumin dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group IV were orally given 250 µg/kg aflatoxin B1 dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. Animals in Group V was orally given 250 µg/kg aflatoxin B1 dissolved in 10% DMSO and 300 mg/kg curcumin dissolved in 10% DMSO daily for 60 days. At the end of the study, nitric oxide, amyloid-A, haptoglobin and ceruloplasmin were determined in blood samples taken from all animals. In this study, nitric oxide, amyloid-A, haptoglobin and ceruloplasmin levels with aflatoxin B1 administration were found to be significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). In the group in which aflatoxin and curcumin were administered together, nitric oxide, amyloid-A, haptoglobin and ceruloplasmin levels were lower than in the aflatoxin group (p<0.05). In conclusion, the obtained data indicated that administration of curcumin may be useful to alleviate the abnormalities in acute phase proteins resulting from aflatoxicosis.

    Evaluation of the Development Process of Selcuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Between 1992-2022 (30 Years)

    Amaç: Çalışmada Selçuk Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi‘nin 1992-2022 yıllarındaki gelişim sürecinin ortaya konulması amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmanın materyalini SÜ Rektörlüğü, SÜVF Dekanlığı, SÜ Veteriner Eğitim ve Uygulama Hastanesi ve SÜ Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü arşivi ile “Bilimsel Araştırma ve Yayın Listesi Formu” aracılığıyla elde edilen bilgi ve belgeler oluşturdu. Ayrıca konuyla ilgili Resmî Gazete, dergi, kitap ve internet kaynakları ile Yaşar (1995) tarafından yapılan araştırma makalesinden yararlanıldı. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirildi, metin içerisinde üst simge olarak belirtilerek son not bölümünde gösterildi ve ilgili bölümde tablolar halinde sunuldu. Bulgular: Fakültede, 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılı itibariyle 20 anabilim dalında toplam 136 akademik personelin hizmet verdiği; fakülteden son 30 yılda lisans düzeyinden 3.806, lisansüstü düzeyden ise toplam 693 (460 doktora, 233 yüksek lisans) (1987-2022) mezun verildiği; fakülte hayvan hastanesinde 2022 yılında 24.335 hayvana veteriner hekimliği hizmeti verildiği belirlendi. Öneri: Mevcut çalışma ile SÜVF’nin 30 yıllık gelişiminin ortaya konularak 40 yıllık gelişim sürecinin tamamlanması hedeflenmiştir. Gelecekte de fakültenin gelişimini takip etmenin, fakülteyi her alanda daha ileriye taşıyarak sadece ulusal değil uluslararası alanda da tercih edilebilirliğini artırmak adına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

    Köpeklerde Farklı Bölgelere Yapılan Kasi?çi? Enjeksi?yonlar Üzeri?nde Karşılaştırmalı Araştırmalar

    In this study it was aimed to find the most suitable region comparing both the spread of injected material and appropriaty of the region by means of intramuscularly injections which are applied from different regions in veterinary clinics. In this study 16 dogs were used under two separate groups. The dogs in the first group were injected 2 ml. of contrast medium with a 22 mm. long needle from the infraspinata, supraspinata, gluteal and femoris caudalis regions. Latero-medial radiographs of all the regions were taken and the spread of contrast medium was examined after 5,15, and 30 minutes of injections. In the second group the dogs were injected 2 ml. of indian ink to the above mentioned regions with the same length needles. The dogs were euthanized after 30 minutes of injection and were kept in a deepfreeze for a day. After the end of this prioed, sections were done on the regions in order to determine the degree of spread of indian ink. As a result it has been decided that infraspinata and gluteal regions were superior to the other regions from the point of spread of contrast medium and indian ink, and from the anatomical point of view regio infraspinata was superior to other regions.

    Zeranol'un Kuzularda Kan Değerleri? ve Bazı Kan Metaboli?tleri? Üzeri?ne Etki?si?

    Zeranol (resorcylic acid lactone, Ralgro) is one of the most widely-used growth agents in beef cattles and lambs in our country. Forty-five male lambs of Konya Merino were used in trial. The effects of Zeranol on haematological values and some blood metabolites were investigated. This study was made as three groups. There were fifteen male lambs in each group. Group I (Control), Group II and Group III were respectively, control (no implanted), 12 mg Zeranol implanted and twice 12 mg Zeranol implanted at forty days intervals. This trial was continued on ninety days. Blood samples were taken at fifteen days intervals. Implantation had no significant effect on haematological values of lambs. It was determined that the limits of variation of red blood cell (RBC) count of Group I, Group II and Group III were respectively; 785.-10.31 x10, 6.86-10.22 x10 and 8.15-10.80 x10/mm³. Group III had lower white blood cell (WBC) count than Group I and Group II up to sixtyth days, but after that they had higher than other groups. Implanted lambs had lower mean haemoglobin (Hb) concentration than control lambs. The sedimantation rate of stored blood (ESR) was generally found the similar pattern among groups. The ammonia nitrogen values from blood metabolites which had been analysed were higher in implanted than in control lambs but the serum urea nitrogen values were generally lower. The serum total protein values were approximetaly same in all groups.

    MDA Level in Colon Tissue of the Rats with Colon Cancer Model Treated with Diallyl Disulfide

    Amaç: Sunulan çalışma azoksimetan ile kolon kanseri oluşturulan ratlarda sarımsağın biyoaktif bileşiklerinden biri olan dialil disülfid’in, kolon dokusu malondialdehit seviyesi üzerine etkisini araştırmak amacı ile yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmada 58 adet erkek Wistar Albino rat kullanıldı. Hayvanlar 5 gruba ayrıldı. 1. grup kontrol grubu (n=12), 2. grup azoksimetan (15mg/kg vücut ağırlığı) uygulanan kanser grubu (n=12), 3. grup sadece dialil disülfit (DADS, 50 mg/kg vücut ağırlığı) uygulanan (n=11), 4. grup azoksimetan ve dialil disülfit uygulanan (n=11) ve 5. grup ise taşıt madde olan mısır yağının (1ml/kg vücut ağırlığı) verildiği gruptur (n=12). Deneme süresi olan 18 haftanın sonunda servikal dislokasyon ile hayvanlar sakrifiye edildi ve kolon dokuları çıkarıldı. Alınan dokuların homojenizasyonu sağlandı ve ELISA cihazı ile kite uygun prosedür kullanılarak MDA seviyeleri ölçüldü. Bulgular: Dokularda tümör oluşumu makroskobik olarak tespit edildi. Yapılan analiz sonucu gruplar arasında MDA seviyesi yönünden herhangi bir fark bulunmadığı belirlendi (P>0.05). Öneri: Sonuç olarak çalışma koşullarında rat kolon dokusunda DADS veya azoksimetan uygulanasının lipid peroksidasyonuna neden olmadığı ifade edilebilir. DADS veya AOM’nin kolon dokusundaki etkinliği, hayvanlara uygulanma şekli ve miktarı göz önüne alınarak ileride yapılacak olan çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.

    Untersuchungen Ueber den Einfluss von Kali?umdi?chromat und Probenlagerung auf die Radi?oi?mmunologisch Gemessene Progesteron - Konzentration in der Kuhmilch

    Süt örnekleri, laboratuvarlara getirilme ve işlenme sırasında değişik ısılarda ve farklı sürelerde bekletilmek zorunda kalınabilir. Bu çalışmada tablet formunda süte ilave edilen potasyumdikromat'ın depolama ısısı ve zamanına bağımlı olarak radyoimmunolojik metodla ölçülen progesteron konsantrasyonlarında sapmalara neden olmadığı araştırıldı. Taze süte katılan potasyumdikromat tabletleri (33 mg potasyumdikromat 67 mg potasyumklorid) ölçüm değerlerini değiştirmedi. Pratik koşullarda ilk sırayı alan oda ısısında bekletmede ve potasyumdikromat ilave edilmeyen sütlerde zamanın ilerlemesi ile progesteron değerlerinin düştüğü saptandı. Bu nedenle teşhiste oluşabilecek hatalardan kaçınabilmek için süt örneklerine potasyumdikromat ilavesi önerildi. Buna karşın +37°C'lik ısıda 168 saat bekletilmeden sonra ölçülen değer bir sıçrama yaparak başlangıç değerinin dört katına ulaştı. Bu olgu proteolotik oluşumlar nedeniyle antikorlara zarar veren maddelerin ortaya çıkmasına bağlanabilir. Artı 4 ve -20°C'lik ısılarda bekletilen potasyumdikromatlı ve potasyumdikromatsız süt örneklerinde istatistik açıdan önemsiz hafif bir düşme görüldü. Uzun zamanlı depolamalar için konservatif madde ilave edilmeksizin +4 ve -20°C'lerin uygun depolama ısıları olduğu gözlendi. Altı kez dondurma ve çözme progesteron konsantrasyonları üzerinde ölçülebilir derecede bir etki göstermedi.

    Kuru Yoncanın Rumendeki? Silialı Protozoonlar Üzeri?ndeki? Etki?si?

    This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of alfalfa hay on pH of the rumen content and the number of cliate protozoa. In the experiment two Akkaraman sheep, one of which was rumen fistulated the other one was rumen cannulated were used. They were fed with alfalfa hay and water ad. libitum. The samples of the rumen content were obtained with a plactis tube through the fistula and cannula. pH was immediately measured electrometrically. After fixing of the rumen contents in formalin the ciliate protozoa numbers and the differential protozoa counts were determined. pH values of the rumen contents were found to be highest before feeding, decreased at the 3 rd hour, later dropped to a lowest level at the 6 th hour after feeding. The protozoa counts per ml of the rumen content showed a parellelism to the declination in pH values. Totaly five species of protozoa were identified throughout the study. These were Isotricha, Entodinium, Diplodinium, Epidinium and Ophryoscolex.

    Plasma and tissues concentrations were determined by fluorimetric method, after administering the chlortetracycline orally to the Broiler chickens. It was found that the most drug residues were in the liver and kidney. It was observed that citric acid has increased the chlortetracycline absorption in the alimentary tract. The emission maxima of the chlortetracycline was 500 nm and excitation maxima was at 400 nm. The chlortetracycline residues which were determined in the plasma and tissues were observed between 0,007-0,046 µg/g.

    Broylerlerde Yağlı Karaci?ğer Sendromu Üzeri?nde Hi?stoloji?k ve Bi?yoki?myasal Çalışmalar

    This study was carried out to investigate the correlation between the fatty liver syndrome and some blood values in broilers fed with rations containing corn, sunflower oil and animal fat. Totally 150 day-old Arbro - 7 female chicks were used in the experiment. There were three groups each containing 50 chicks. The experiment lasted in 56 days. At the end of the experiment, a severe case of fatty livers was observed in the group fed with corn based ration. The highest SGOT (P<0.05) and FFA values were found in this group. In the other two groups fed differently with ration containing sunflower oil and the animal fat, the lesser amount of lipid infiltrations were observed. The total serum cholesterol levels in the group fed with animal fat were higher than the other groups (P<0.01). As a result, it can be deduced that the determination of SGOT values as well as the histological investigation would be helpfull in the diagnosis of subclinical fatty liver syndrome.

    In this study a total of 69 heifers in 8-11 months of age; 21 Holstein (H), 17 Southern Anatolian Reds (GAK), 18 Holstein x GAK first cross-bred (G) and 13 second cross-bred (G?) obtained from the Mercimek Zootechnical Research Institute of General Directorate for Agricultural affairs, were used. The experiments have continued for 4 seasons. Therefore a total of 276 blood samples: 4 times from each animal in every season, were collected and 1104 analyses: GOT, BUN, ALP-FFA for each samples were carried out. The analysis of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and alkaline phosphatase enzymes in blood serum were executed by using Boehringer enzyme test kits. For the determination of nitrogen in blood urea, Nesslerisation method was used. Free fatty acids in plasma were measured by colorimetric methods. The results were statistically evaluated by analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. According to the seasonal differencies the following values were obtained. The GOT values; 41.44 3.84 82.385.69 U/L. The ALP values; 36.852.19 110.76 7.86 U/L. The BUN values; 10.02 0.667 17.52 +1.328 mg/100 ml. The FFA values; 0.047 0.003 0.461 0.093 mM/L. The differences related to the seasons and animal breeds are found to be statistically significant (P <0.01, P<0.05).

    Dans ce travail, on a etudié macro-anatomiquement sur les organs abdominaux du vison. Pour ce faire on a utilise 7 visons. Nous avons montré ci-dessous les particularités et les differences obtenues les plus importantes. 1- L'estomac est en forme d'un alambic, il existe un petit cul-de-sac à gauche et dorsalement à la cardia. 2- L'intérieur de l'estomac est divisé en deux parties incomplètes par un pli d'hauteur à peu près 3 mm., allongé perpendiculairement à la grande courbure de l'estomac, en regard de l'incisure angulaire. L'une d'elles, large, se trouve à gauche et dorsalement du pli, l'autre, est partie etroite, formée avant l'antrum pyloricum puis s'ouvrant au duodenum par un canal pylorique. 3- Le trajet du duodenum est semblable à celui du cheval. 4- La frontière n'est pas definie entre l'iléon et le jejunum. 5- L'ileon continue avec le colon. 6- Le caecum est absent. 7- Le colon possède une seule taenie, alors qu'il n'a pas de bosselure. Il est caracterisé par fort flexuosite. 8- La grande partie du pancreas est situé à cote droit de la ligne mediane et au débout de la partie descendente du duodenum, et sa partie, etroite et allongee, à cote gauche de la ligne mediane, à la longueur de la face viscérale du rate. 9- La rate est semblable par sa forme à celui des grands ruminants. 10- Le foie est divisé en cinq lobes principaux par fissures profondes. Le lobe caude est très develloppé, surtout son processus caude deborde beaucoup le lobe droit latérale et porte la profonde et large une empreinte renale. 11- L'extremite crâniale du rein gauche est un peu pointu par rapport à celui du rein droit.

    This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different amounts of biotin (0, 50, 100 and 150 ug/kg) added to the broilers' ration on growth performance and fatty liver syndrome. In this study, 1000 day-old Hybro chicks were used. They were distributed into 4 groups, each group containing 250 chicks and the experiment was ended at the 49th day. Mean final weight values in the groups were 1841.13; 1871.78; 1822.88 and 1848.39 g respectively. There were no significant differences among the live weights of the groups (P > 0.05). But the highest final weight was found in the group fed 50 µg/kg biotin. Total feed consumption for all groups were 4.295; 4.326; 4.378 and 4.294 kg respectively. There was no large variation among the groups related to feed consumption. Feed convertion were found to be 2.340; 2.312; 2.405 and 2.324 kg, respectively, during the experiment. According to these results, experimental group I (50 µg/kg biotin) consumed less feed for 1 kg weight gain than the others. At the end of the experiment, in macroscopic investigation, livers of the groups given 0 and 50 ug/kg biotin were seen pale in colour and fatty. In microscopic investigation of the livers in the same groups, severe lipid infiltrations were seen in the cytoplasma of paranchymal cells. The livers of second (100 ug/kg biotin) and third (150 ug/kg biotin) groups were macroscopically normal. Any lipid infiltration in the paranchymal cells were not observed. 50 pg/kg biotin improves the growth performance but the same level was not effective in preventing fatty liver syndrome. As a result, the use of the amount of 100 µg/kg biotin would be recommended in preventing the formation of fatty liver syndrome in broiler feeding.

    In this study, the formation and distribution of the brachial plexus of the dog was investigated. For this purpose, ten dogs, in different ages and sex, were used. The brachial plexus of the dog is formed by the ventral branches of the sixth, seventh, eighth cervical and first, second thoracic nerves. The ventral branch of the second thoracic nerve is relatively small. The nerves arising from the brachial plexus of the dog: Suprascapular nerve is formed by the ventral branches sixth and seventh cervical nerves in dogs. Subscapular nerves usually number two in this study, it is determined that subscapular nerves, only one cases (10 %) are three in number, nine cases are two in number. When two subscapular nerves are present, one of them arises from the ventral branches of the sixth and seventh cervical nerves, the other originates from the ventral branch of the seventh cervical nerve. Musculocutaneus nerve arises from the ventral branches of the seventh cervical nerve, with a delicate branch contribution from the sixth cervical nerve. Axillary nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the seventh and eighth cervical nerves. Cranial pectoral nerves are two in number. One of them, at its origin it is associated with the musculocutaneus nerve. Caudal pectoral nerves are two in number. At its origin, they are associated with the lateral thoracic nerve, and arise from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. Lateral thoracic nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the cervical and first and second thoracic nerve. Thoracodorsal nerve is formed by the ventral branch of the eighth cervical nerve. Long thoracic nerve originates from the ventral branches of the seventh and eighth cervical nerves. Radial nerve is formed by the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. It is the largest nerve of the brachial plexus. Median nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves. At its origin it forms a single trunk with ulnar nerve. Ulnar nerve takes its origin from the ventral branches of the eighth cervical and first and second thoracic nerves.

    Three Angora Goats of 2-2.5 years old, with permanent rumen cannula were used in this experiment. Animals were fed with three different types of rations with concentrate mixture and alfalfa straw; 20:80, 40: 60, 60:40 respectively. In the investigation; pH Inorganic P and NH3-N values in the rumen fluid and NH3N in the blood and Urea-N, total protein, glucose, Inorganic P levels in the blood sera vere determined before feeding, at the 4 and 8th hour after feeding for each animal. At the 4 th hour after feeding the pH values in the rumen fluid and NH3-N of the blood were both decreased. The NH3-N values of the blood at the 8th hour after feeding and NH3-N levels of the rumen fluid at the 4th hour after feeding were highest. Inorganic P values in the blood sera were gradually increased but Inorganic P levels in the rumen fluid were decreased at the sampling times. No notable changes were observed in each sampling, as far as Urea-N, total protein and glucose levels of the blood sera are concerned.

    Comparative Studies on Leucocytes of Some Freshwater Fish Species

    Balık kanının bileşimi, balıkların normal ve patolojik biyolojilerinin kesin bir şekilde anlaşılması bakımından temel oluşturduğu için, gelecekte hematoloji balık hastalıklarının teşhis edilmesinde önemli bir yer alacaktır. Bundan dolayı, çalışmada Türkiye'de ekonomik değeri olan beş tatlı su balığı türünün (Gökkuşağı alabalığı, Yayın, Tatlı Su Kefali Aynalı ve Pullu Sazan) lökosit formülü ve lökosit tiplerinin indentifikasyonları yapıldı. Lökositlerin ayırımında ve oranlarının belirlenmesinde May Grünwald - Giemsa karışık boyama yöntemi kullanıldı. Lökositlerin çekirdekleri normal olarak hazırlanan Giemsa boyası ile yeteri kadar boyanmadıklarından, boya hazırlanırken her ml distile suya 1.5 damla Giemsa ana mahlül ilave edildi. Her lökosit tipinin ortalama yüzdeleri ile ayırımları balık türleri için ayrı ayrı yapıldı. Bu araştırma makalesinde verilen bazı balıklara ait lökosit oranları ile resimlerinin, karşılaştırmalı hematoloji ile uğraşanlar açısından, tatlı su balıklarının kan değerlerinin daha iyi tanınmasında yardımcı olacağı sonucuna varıldı.
